Flesh Juicer first formed in 2006 with deathcore and hardcore being the main genres of the band. Their first full-length album GIGO was released in 2015, which took inspiration from the sonic elements of traditional temple fairs and funeral music. Flesh Juicer was able to successfully integrate melodies using Taiwan's traditional pentatonic scales with the concept of outer space and the universe, with much of their music based on traditional melodies found only at religious and folk ceremonies. Their third album GOLDEN Taizi BRO was released in 2021, which nabbed the band Best Album, Best Band, and Best Live Performance at the 12th Golden Indie Music Awards; The album would later win the Best Band Award at the 33rd Golden Melody Awards in 2022.
