This session focuses on entrepreneurship in the music industry, and discusses the successful experience in various stages from composing, international tour, starting a business, to fundraising and more. We invited professionals representing musicians, entertainment companies, and international music festivals to share from their own experiences about how musicians expand their careers with a manager's mindset in the contemporary music industry.
Zoe Wang was previously the VP at Warner Chappell Music APAC and Licensing Director for Spotify APAC. Zoe has over 20 years of experience in the music industry and currently serves as Director of International Business at Taiwan Creative Content Agency.
Weining is the co-founder of LUCfest, a three-day showcase festival and conference in Tainan, Taiwan. She has always been a force for getting Taiwanese and Asian musicians into the global market. She is also the international manager for artists like Phum Viphurit and ADOY. Weining splits her time between Asia and Europe and is passionate about stimulating networking activities and building Asian music industry platforms.
Jay is the Managing Director of KKLIVE. Founded Walking Internet Entertainment Limited in 2010 to develop e-ticketing platforms, venue operations, and businesses for peripheral commodities. In 2011, Jay established J’s Entertainment Inc. to hold concerts, meet-and-greets, art exhibitions and themed entertainment activities and joined KKCompany in 2018 to establish KKLIVE Holdings, operating the event distribution brand KKLIVE, electronic ticketing platform KKTIX, and Backstage at Taipei and Kaohsiung livehouses. He has headed teams to hold hundreds of events that have been attended by millions of people in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and various cities in Southeast Asia.
A musician from Taipei. He is lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter in the romantic pop band Sunset Rollercoaster. Used to play bass in bands including shoegazers Boyz & Girl and dark industrial trio Forests during his teenage years. In 2009 he formed Sunset Rollercoaster as a garage rock group. In 2015, he led the band on headline tours in Europe and North America, and to the top of festival bills around Asia.
