insecteens is a Taipei indie rock musician. Founder and mastermind of the legendary post-rock band Sugar Plum Ferry, insecteens is a continuation of the influence he garnered even after disbanding. Being a self-taught guitar player and having a mind for musical experimentation, insecteens has helmed a wide variety of musical styles and genres with never-exhausting creative energy. He has participated in many renowned bands in Taiwan, including Pan Alley, Miss Stocking, Frandé, and Silverbus. Performing with a full band set-up is when his conflicting charm of restraint and wildness is on full display.2007 “Spider Lilies” is nominated for Best Original Movie Song at the Golden Horse Awards, with the album of the same name also released.2011 Man of Nature is released. As the debut album of insecteens, it was a blend of alternative rock, slowcore, post-rock, shoegaze, and folk. The album was praised for its thick emotions coupled with a perspective of introspection. The album went on to be chosen as a top ten album by iNDIEVOX, and one of the top ten Mandarin albums of the year by Pots Weekly, earning it the reputation as one of the most influential Taiwanese indie albums of the 21st century.   2018 Produced the title track “Owe” on Ardor Huang’s album Warming a Pot of Youth to Drink, which won Best Male Taiwanese Hokkien Singer at the Golden Melody Awards.2022 Released sophomore album In a Flash
