Being fond of organic and accidental art since he was a child, Bio has long had a passion for unpredictable shapes and colors. Specializing in watercolor painting and visual design, Bio is also involved in dance and performing arts. In 2016, he began to combine painting with performance through improvisation in the form of visual projection, which led him to develop a series of artistic projections based on the principle of oil-water separation. His style uses fluid art and liquid light sculpture as elements, combined with rendering techniques and physical projectors to interpret light and spatial aesthetics on stage. Bio’s goal is to combine his art with diverse music, visual art, and performances, to explore the possibility of accidental art, and to transform limited forms into infinite performances; while also developing live visual performance works that are immediate, analog and organic. Currently, Bio not only works as a visual performance artist, but also as a select shop owner, brand designer, interior decoration designer, curator, and freelance dancer.
Introduction to Bio’s works: Liquid light artDoing live painting based on the principle of oil-water separation, Bio projects the process of creating art through a physical projector. Compared to digital projection, analog projectors can better reflect the real-time scene, which he believes is an analogy for the organic visual performance art he sets out to create. Though there are many things that are difficult to control and cannot be standardized, this is also what makes the show interesting to Bio. As oil and water are different entities and are mutually exclusive in nature, it is precisely because of this difference from each other that this varied and beautiful world can be formed.
