1." The Guardians of the Jade Mountain"/Volos Films Ltd
“The Guardians of the Jade Mountain,” tells the story of an unlikely friendship between the chief of the Bunun clan (one of Taiwan's indigenous groups) and the Japanese anthropologist Ushinosuke Mori at the beginning of the 20th century, during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. It questions the notion of the enemy when one is no longer looking at the scale of a Nation but at that of individuals of different origins and backgrounds, to whom everything seems to oppose.
2."FRAMERATE: Taiwan"/ScanLAB Projects
FRAMERATE is a multi-screen immersive art installation about environmental change. Using pioneering 3D time-lapse capture, the artwork currently features long and short-term time-lapse recordings from British landscapes; urban, rural and industrial sites across the country. Working with a local Taiwanese production team and researchers, ScanLAB Projects will capture new time-lapse content to create their first international chapter of the artwork, FRAMERATE: Taiwan.
3. "SOMEWHERE UNKNOWN IN INDOCHINA"/ MIMEO FILMS Ltd.
Can a living person dream a ghost’s dream? " This is a VR work of a dream within another dream. The story's protagonists are three Vietnamese sisters born in Cambodia. One of them was executed, and two of them were ever accommodated in an unknown Indochinese refugee camp.
4."COLORED"/Flash Forward Entertainment
COLORED is a 30 minutes immersive experience with augmented reality on HoloLens 2 (LBE). It tells the story of Claudette Colvin, heroine of the US civil right fights who was forgotten by history. The project combines volumetric capture, photogrammetry and cutting edge sound design gathered in a physical set, bridging the gap between art installation, cinema, and XR.
5."Encounters"/Serendipity Films
"Encounters" is a sensory journey through space and time, linking a saturated and unbearable modern era to its possible peaceful future where time for dialogue and self-awareness prevail. It is a multi-user immersive performance experience that combines VR, 5G, projection mapping, and AI sensing technology. There will be two types of experiences, one is Rambler who needs to wear VR to walk barefoot in the water; the other one is Spectator who can walk freely to see the real-time projection.
