The British merchant John Dodd, who loves adventure and is brave to try new things, and the buyer LI Chun-sheng, who is smart and competent, came to Taiwan from Xiamen to look for new opportunities, met in Taiwan with different personalities and worked together to create the tea time of Dadaocheng.

In 1865, the port of Tamsui was opened in Taiwan, and many foreign companies were established and merchant ships were in constant flow, making it a new homeland for immigrants, a land of freedom full of opportunities, and a paradise for adventurers. John Dodd, a British merchant who loved adventure and often dealt with indigenous people. Li Chun-sheng, a shrewd and competent buyer who came to Taiwan from Xiamen in search of new opportunities. When they meet in Taiwan, they see oolong tea as the starting point of their dream, but they still have to overcome many difficulties before they can succeed.

Initially, they had to face distrust from the tea farmers, difficulties from the government and challenges from the Fuzhou tea merchant Wuyi Red Tea.

As the business started, they encountered problems finding new tea fields and convincing tea farmers. With their knowledge and tireless efforts, they finally gained the trust of tea farmers and successfully launched the oolong tea business in Taiwan. They became the leaders of the tea industry and encountered various tests, trying to hold their ground under the prying eyes of various business forces. Tea roasting methods, anti-counterfeiting products, and tea box packaging are all decisive keys to maintaining their unique and consistent quality.

However, these conflicts also test the tacit understanding between the two men, and the very different personalities of Dodd and Chun-sheng often clash, but the friendship between them grows deeper after the clash of beliefs. This is a part of the history that belongs to the tea makers in Taiwan, and it is also a reproduction of the tea making style of Dadaocheng in the Qing Dynasty.
